APS6404L-SQN-SN: The Energy-Efficiency Pioneer for Industrial Intelligence and Portable Devices

AP Memory’s PSRAM product line covers a wide range of storage capacities from 64Mb to 512Mb and offers diverse packaging options as well as efficient wafer stacking solutions. These products can operate at frequencies up to 1066MHz in x8/x16 modes, achieving a bandwidth of 4266Mbytes/s. Among them, the UHS series maintains a frequency of 1066MHz with power consumption of only 62mW, saving about 40% energy compared to LPDRAM; the ULS series further reduces power consumption by adopting lower I/O voltage. Additionally, these PSRAM products have only one-third the number of pins compared to traditional DRAM, simplifying the design process and meeting the needs of space-constrained applications, especially suitable for IoT products. Notably, the UHS/ULS series can be directly connected to the main chip without a voltage converter, reducing the complexity and cost of system design.

For industrial applications, AP Memory has introduced the APS6404L-SQN-SN, a 64Mb QSPI PSRAM chip. This chip is available in an SOP8 package and is suitable for a wide industrial temperature range. Its supply voltage ranges from 1.62V to 1.98V, compatible with SPI/QPI and SDR communication modes, with a maximum clock rate of 144MHz. Its memory architecture is set at 8M x 8bits, with an addressing range covering A[22:0] and a page configuration of 1024 bytes. The chip features self-managed refresh functionality, allowing DRAM refresh without system host intervention. The standard operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C, while the extended version can reach up to +105°C, maintaining a low-temperature tolerance of -40°C. At 105°C, the maximum standby current is 300µA; at 85°C, it is 200µA; and at 25°C, the typical standby current is only 66µA. Additionally, the chip supports LVCMOS with 50Ω output drive strength, 1K-byte or 32-byte burst transfers, and software reset functions. Its ultra-low power consumption and small package size make it an ideal choice for battery-powered portable devices.

In practical applications, the APS6404L-SQN-SN demonstrates extensive versatility. On automated production lines, it serves as a data cache and buffer, supporting efficient and stable production processes. In industrial robot control systems, it enables fast data processing and storage, facilitating real-time control and complex task execution. In smart meters, it supports remote control, monitoring, data acquisition, and fault warning. It also meets the data processing and storage needs of high-precision instruments. Moreover, in portable devices such as smartwatches and fitness bands, its low power consumption and small size significantly extend battery life. These advantages make the APS6404L-SQN-SN highly applicable in the fields of industrial control and portable devices.
