Why RAM Memory
Static RAM keeps data without refresh and delivers fast, symmetrical read and write access — the working memory behind display frame buffers, voice data, and packet buffering.
Asynchronous parallel SRAM in TSOP and BGA packages gives simple, fast random access for industrial and legacy buses. Serial QSPI and OPI pSRAM fit in SOP8, USON8, and BGA-24 footprints when pins are tight.
pSRAM packs DRAM-class density into a memory with an SRAM-style interface, reaching 512Mb in a 24-ball BGA. For display cache and voice buffering, pSRAM wins on density per square millimeter.

RAM Memory FAQ
RAM is the working memory of a system — it buffers display frames, voice and sensor data, and network packets, and shadows code for fast execution. It is volatile, so designs pair it with NOR Flash or eMMC for code and data that must survive power loss.
SRAM is static memory that needs no refresh and offers the fastest, simplest random access — our asynchronous parts range from 1Mbit to 32Mbit. pSRAM combines a DRAM-class storage core with an SRAM-like interface, reaching much higher density — up to 512Mb — in small BGA packages.
Asynchronous parallel SRAM suits simple buses and legacy or industrial platforms. QSPI pSRAM in SOP8 and USON8 packages fits space-limited designs with few pins. OPI (octal SPI) pSRAM gives the highest bandwidth for display cache and voice buffering in a 24-ball BGA.
For small buffers and parameter working memory, 1Mbit to 16Mbit at 3.3V or 1.8V is usually enough. Display cache and voice buffering typically use 64Mb to 512Mb at 1.8V. For automotive platforms, choose AEC-Q100 qualified parts. Send us your memory map and we will recommend a part.
