Domestic PSRAM with In-depth Compatibility for HPLC, Boosting the Upgrade of Power Equipment in Diverse Scenarios

The in-depth digital transformation of smart grids is driving High-speed Power Line Communication (HPLC) technology to break out of the traditional single framework of meter reading. It has fully expanded into diversified scenarios including station area topology identification, precise line loss management, pre-fault prediction, and new energy grid-connected access.

Business logic, data interaction characteristics and environmental requirements vary significantly across different scenarios, placing personalized and stringent demands on the memory supporting HPLC chips. With the core advantages of flexible specification adaptation and stable and reliable performance, Pseudo Static Random Access Memory (PSRAM) achieves universal compatibility across all scenarios. It serves as a critical pillar to solve the scenario adaptation challenges of HPLC devices and accelerate large-scale industrial implementation.

As the core terminal nodes of power grid data collection, smart meters and data collectors are required to complete millisecond-level power parameter sampling and second-level real-time data reporting. Meanwhile, they need to cache multi-frame high-precision power data and complex communication protocol stacks, imposing prominent requirements on memory low power consumption and high cache efficiency.

Our 64Mbit PSRAM adopts targeted low-power design, with standby current strictly controlled within 250μA, perfectly matching the long-term operation requirements of battery-powered electricity meters. Its large-capacity caching capability efficiently supports the storage of hundreds of frames of message data, completely avoiding data packet loss and retransmission issues, ensuring the accuracy and real-time performance of collected data and laying a solid foundation for front-end data acquisition.

As the hub of power data transmission, concentrators and station area terminals need to connect with hundreds of smart meters simultaneously to realize multi-node concurrent data collection, full-station-area topology identification, and hierarchical data summary and reporting. This puts extreme requirements on memory capacity limit and read-write speed.

Our 128Mbit PSRAM provides sufficient cache space to support complete station area topology map storage and multi-task parallel computing. Equipped with a QSPI interface above 84MHz featuring high bandwidth and low latency, it enables rapid processing and efficient transmission of massive power data. It accurately supports the implementation of advanced business functions such as station area line loss management and fault prediction, greatly improving the efficiency of station area management.

HPLC+HRF dual-mode communication modules have become the mainstream form of new-generation State Grid HPLC devices. They need to run multiple high-load tasks simultaneously, including PLC baseband signal processing, wireless radio frequency communication, multi-protocol stack parsing, and security encryption, which impose extremely high requirements on memory compatibility, stability and multi-task isolation capability.

Our PSRAM allocates independent cache areas for various tasks, effectively realizing resource isolation for dual-mode parallel operation. It prevents task preemption, data conflict and operational stuttering, stably supporting the implementation of State Grid-specified advanced functions such as power outage reporting, unified device ID management and precise phase identification. It provides reliable memory guarantee for the large-scale application of dual-mode modules.

The access of new energy equipment such as photovoltaic systems, energy storage devices and charging piles to the power grid has extended HPLC technology to new energy grid-connected scenarios. Such scenarios involve complex operations including high-power bidirectional data interaction, dynamic load scheduling and long-term storage of security logs, bringing new challenges to memory reliability and anti-interference performance.

Our industrial-grade PSRAM has passed stringent EMC electromagnetic compatibility and ESD protection tests with strong anti-interference capability, resisting the impact of strong power line noise and sudden signal interference. Meanwhile, backed by high stability verified by mass deployment of tens of millions of modules, it perfectly adapts to the complex operating environment of new energy terminals, ensures the stability and security of high-power data interaction, facilitates the efficient integration of new energy and power grids, and promotes the construction of new-type power systems.

At present, our PSRAM has been deeply adapted to the full range of mainstream HPLC chip solutions including HiSilicon, CreateChip, Neusoft, Dingxin, Xinci Microelectronics and Liteon. It is mass-applied to all types of carriers such as smart meters, concentrators, station area terminals and new energy access equipment of State Grid and China Southern Power Grid across provincial power companies, serving core terminal manufacturers including Wasion, Linyang, XJ Electric and Dongfang Electronics.

With full-scenario adaptation capability, stable and reliable performance and comprehensive technical support, our PSRAM has become the preferred memory solution for the large-scale application of HPLC equipment in the industry, winning wide recognition from customers.

In the future, with the continuous expansion of smart grid scenarios and technological iteration, HPLC will raise further refined and high-performance requirements for supporting memory products. We will continue to deeply cultivate power industry scenarios, optimize product specifications and performance parameters based on core demands of various scenarios, and provide customized PSRAM solutions more tailored to scenario characteristics. We will continuously empower the large-scale and high-quality implementation of HPLC power line communication technology, and inject core momentum into smart grid upgrading and new-type power system construction.
